FAMILY PHOTOS | MORAINE LAKE
Whenever someone asks me if Moraine Lake can work for younger families … I say YES 100%!
I mean, it may not change the fact that kids will be kids and may not want to be fully in it or need huge briberies lol, BUT at least it’s a beautiful backdrop to keep them interested for a short while! That meant I moved QUICK for these first family photos because I know a 2 year old has a short window and boy were we right. After 10 minutes in, she wanted to do her own thing which is a-okay too! I love capturing candid moments and the realness of families (aka cuddles or wanting to be independent and explore).
Jen and I were unsure we could even make this work on the day because it was pouring in Banff and not looking promising the closer we got. We parked in Lake Louise to decide if it was worth driving down to Moraine and I just thought it was worth the risk - it’s too pretty of a view to pass up if we are that close. Even 10 minutes outside of Moraine it was still raining and THEN we park - nothing. Cloudy and NO RAIN DROPLETS!!
So there you have it, risks are worth it. And an added bonus, less people because of the unquestionable weather! I’ll take it :) Here’s a few sneaks!
